My name is Giovanni Cirillo, and I am thrilled to be applying for the position of Part 2 architectural assistant. Having recently achieved a Masters in Architecture MArch Part II degree at UWE University, I aim to keep progressing toward the full role of being a professional Architect.
To introduce myself shortly, I would like to share with you my accomplishments and experiences of this past year as a master’s student in architecture. I have recently completed my two-year course with great achievements (first-class degrees), throughout this year, I have dedicated myself to exploring the integration of computational design to enhance the environmental qualities and improve residents’ well-being. In my main design studio project, I delved into the possibilities of computational design to create sustainable and human-centric spaces.
The project’s success was acknowledged by the RIBA awards, highlighting the innovative and thoughtful approach I employed in the design process. In addition to these focuses, I went on a journey of applying computational design principles to Biomimicry. This research project focused on designing water harvesting panels, inspired by nature’s own ingenious systems, showcasing my ability to explore interdisciplinary concepts and translate them into practical and impactful designs.
Throughout my master’s program, I consistently directed my efforts towards projects that integrated possible future technologies inspired by nature, concepts of biomimicry, and biophilic architecture. I firmly believe that by drawing inspiration from the natural world and applying advanced computational environmental strategies, we can create built environments that not only support biodiversity and ecological systems but also foster social well-being and inclusivity.
In each of my projects, I have strived to incorporate a sustainable mix of uses, creating vibrant and resilient spaces that cater to diverse user needs. By placing a strong emphasis on designing for social and demographic diversity, I believe in the power of architecture to promote inclusivity, community engagement, and a sense of belonging.
Furthermore, I am confident that my background in computational environmental strategies, coupled with my passion for sustainability, would enable me to contribute valuable insights to your practice. I have developed a strong proficiency in utilizing advanced computational tools to analyze and optimize designs, leading to more efficient resource utilization, reduced environmental impact, and enhanced user experiences.
I sincerely hope you would consider me a valuable candidate who could contribute to your projects and aspirations in a complimentary fashion. I am very grateful for your consideration and I look forward to the possibility of discussing a future at your practice in further detail.
