Biomedical Science graduate with previous Laboratory Technician experience, keen about developing my knowledge in the field of biomedical and research sciences. Recent experience includes the handling of bodily fluids (red blood cells and sera), including other biological samples primarily being bacteria. Obtaining results via analytical lab techniques like PCR, microscopy, flow cytometry and HPLC.
Management of various automated systems (agitators, sonicators, vortexes, autoclaves) coinciding medical device sample testing under aseptic conditions. A capacity to multi-task and adhere to new processes and a readiness to collaborate alongside laboratory professionals and tackle new challenges with critical thinking and a solution-based mindset.
Microscopy incorporated in microbiology and pathology. Microbial handling in aseptic conditions under the use of a laminar air flow. Data analysis and entry using LIMS software for biological samples and medical device testing. Lab automated systems.
Sound collaborative skills. Attention to detail. Sufficiency in Microsoft Office software handling, Good written and verbal communication. Compassion and receptivity with patients as a National Trust Volunteer at the Royal Berkshire Hospital where I could empathise and listen to patients’ life stories and medical conditions.
