My name is Gordon Campbell, and I am an experienced hospitality professional currently working as a Hotel Supervisor at the Westerwood Hotel in Cumbernauld. I have spent several years building a strong career within the hospitality industry, gaining experience across both restaurant and hotel operations. I began my career as a Chef with Whitbread, where I worked for four years.
During this time, I developed strong culinary skills while also learning the importance of teamwork, communication, and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment. This role helped me understand how to deliver excellent customer service, ensure customer satisfaction, and contribute to a positive and productive working atmosphere. Seeking a new challenge, I transitioned into the hotel side of Whitbread, working at Premier Inn.
I started as a Receptionist, where I spent over a year developing new skills within front of house operations and guest services. Towards the end of my time with Whitbread, I was given the opportunity to step up into the role of Duty Manager. This position allowed me to take on greater responsibility, build confidence in decision-making, and manage more complex operational tasks.
Through this experience, I gained a strong understanding of hotel management and developed a clear ambition to continue progressing within the industry. Outside of work, I am highly ambitious and motivated in both my personal and professional life. I actively compete in CrossFit competitions, which helps me stay mentally and physically strong.
I bring these qualities into my work, as my current role involves a high level of movement, problem solving, and multitasking. I am also a qualified Level 2 Gym Instructor and am currently working towards my Level 3 Personal Training qualification, enabling me to support and motivate clients in achieving both physical and mental goals. Hospitality is a career I have been passionate about for many years.
I enjoy interacting with guests from different backgrounds, listening to their experiences, and delivering consistently high levels of service. My long term goal is to progress into a Hotel Duty Manager position and ultimately achieve my ambition of becoming a Hotel Manager, continuing to grow my skills and knowledge within the industry.
