As an Early Years Practitioner and Room Senior, I played a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day learning and development of the children in the setting. As a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprentice, I was actively involved in supporting children's learning while gaining hands-on experience. I assisted the manager with the day-to-day running of the grotto, ensuring everything ran smoothly. On days when I was the manager, I took full responsibility for opening and closing the grotto, overseeing operations, and managing the cashing up process. I was also responsible for depositing the day's takings into the company's account at the bank.
Throughout my role, I remained highly engaged with families, ensuring they had a memorable experience. I often had to think on my feet, creating solutions to challenges as help was not always immediately available.

I was responsible for the safety and wellbeing of a group of young adults, including completing risk assessments to ensure a safe environment. I provided 1-to-1 support, particularly for a young teenager with cerebral palsy, assisting her with mobility and helping her actively participate in and enjoy the sessions.
