Check the particulars of the patient, managing request forms before collecting blood samples.
Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible while confirming their agreement to the collection of blood samples.
Collect samples from sample collection room.
Ensuring samples are stored in appropriate containers.
Accurate, legible labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity.
Recording the collection of blood samples in patient record in accordance with practice procedure.
Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a Head Nurse notifying the same of any vital situations.
Urine / stool / wound samples, sending them to the laboratory and recording the collection of samples in patient record in accordance with practice procedure.
Measurement of height and weight
Measurement of blood pressure, temperature and pulse
Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality and dignity.
Report to nurse in charge any illnesses of an infectious nature or accident incurred by patients or colleagues.
Administering Flu jabs on Adults.
