Guy Ebou

I am currently working as a control room operator at the NEC . My duties involve communicating with customers and correctly escalating incidents through the right channels. I write incident reports and perform risk assessments.

Additionally I am involved in the proactive operation of the car park machines, CCTV cameras, VMS, BMS, ANPR, radio, access control, PA and Fire system. I also run the operator's logs.

Previous to this role, I worked at Science Museum for 10 years. As a supervisor I was responsible controlling the access passes and surveillance cameras from different sites; I was in charged of monitoring and maintaining different types of electronic alarm signals including the fire alarm system. In addition I managed the departmental weekly rota, staff payroll through Time Gate Portal and I write end-of-day reports for the management team. I deal with all incidents and emergencies according to laid down escalation procedures by ensuring that all procedures followed are in line with NSI and other legislative regulations. This involves liaising with the emergency services when necessary.

In 2018, while working at Science museum I volunteered as a support worker with All Projects, a French company for a year. I was involved in providing emotional and practical support to patients and their families; supporting and monitoring the healthcare needs and reporting to nurse in charge when required. Further, I assisted with everyday tasks such as writing notes, taking patients out to access community facilities and doing their shopping, and participating in groups activities. Also to ensure consistency of support given to patients, I communicated patient’s needs and drew up their focused support plan via working with other professionals .

My previous work experience has given me the confidence and skills to work effectively as part of a team and independently. I am self motivated and enthusiastic individual with a flexible approach to work, have a desire to learn new skills for self-improvement and possess eagerness to achieve goals in life. I have worked with a wide range of people from different backgrounds, and I am able to communicate fluently with people at all levels. I have experience in dealing with customers/patients from different backgrounds. I can lead a group and actively participate as well, these skills gathered from my current workplace would be valuable in this post. I am familiar with Microsoft office: Excel, Word and Access.
