I am a veterinary physiotherapist looking for a change in career into a healthcare admin role, with a strong interest in clinical coding. I have extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease pathology and various treatments available. My general skills include reading and writing specialist reports, extracting required information, communicating with surgeons, clinical colleagues and clients, and diary management.

I have some experience in clinical coding as my current role requires a small amount of it to price patient care accurately.

Veterinary Physiotherapist at Delta Veterinary Physiotherapy (2022-09 – Present)

I am currently self-employed (sole trader) under this company, which I started in July 2021 as an animal massage therapist prior to gaining my qualification in veterinary physiotherapy. I have practiced veterinary physiotherapy to an exclusive number of equine and small animal patients.

• Fulfilling the physiotherapy session; Full assessment techniques to clinically justify treatment options and exercise prescription.
• Client communication regarding their animal's progress.
• Administration duties including diary management, writing veterinary reports, obtaining veterinary consent, handling data in accordance with GDPR, and managing the finances of a small business.
• Maintaining and servicing equipment as required.

Veterinary Physiotherapist at Farnham Veterinary Hospital (2022-12 – Present)

I am currently the sole veterinary physiotherapist and Laser Safety Officer at FVH.

• Clinical assessment and treatment of small animal patients. This includes outpatient and inpatient treatment, including respiratory physiotherapy where indicated.
• Sole responsibility of FVH's rehabilitation centre, including equipment maintenance and organising repairs or servicing as required and water management.
• Educating veterinarians and veterinary nurses on the use and application of laser therapy, ensuring safe practice is observed. Updating risk assessments and standard operating procedures as needed. Observing the use of laser therapy in practice as the Laser Safety Officer.
• Assisting the nursing team such as safe restraining of patients for interventions, surgical preparation including dressing surgeons and passing instruments using aseptic techniques, cleaning of kennel areas, feeding patients and taking dogs for toilet breaks.

Canine Hydrotherapy at Aquatic Canine Therapy (2025-01 – Present)

I am a hydrotherapist here as part of a team of hydrotherapists and a travelling physiotherapist.

• Clinical assessment and hydrotherapy treatment of small animal patients.
• Water management, including chemical testing and dosing.
• Liaise with veterinary surgeons and writing veterinary reports.
• Performing clinically justified massage therapy in a water-based environment to manage musculoskeletal disorders.
• Client communication, such as answering calls, emails, and writing newsletters to owners.

Animal Massage Therapy at Delta Animal Massage Therapy (2021-07 – 2022-09)

Prior to my qualification as a veterinary physiotherapist, I passed my Massage Therapy and remedial Exercise module at Writtle University College, allowing me to practice animal massage therapy. I started Delta Animal Massage Therapy in July 2021, changing the role of the business upon graduation from the Integrated Masters degree. My roles were similar to those at Delta Veterinary Physiotherapy; however, I did not practice prescription of electrotherapies during this time.

Kennel and Cattery Worker, Receptionist at Burntwood Kennels and Cattery (2016-06 – 2021-08)

I worked seasonally as a kennel and cattery hand for 5 years at Burntwood. From 2018, I was a trusted senior member of staff and receptionist.

• Leading a team of kennel staff, ensuring all tasks were completed to a high standard.

Volunteer at Mane Chance Sanctuary (2014-06 – 2014-09)

After completing school, I volunteered at the sanctuary for the summer. Here I learned the Trust Technique, a type of mindfulness meditation which helps to calm nervous animals. This technique has helped dozens of horses in the sanctuary's care achieve a feeling of safety. I have used this technique on very painful or nervous patients to improve patient relaxation and outcomes.
