Within this role I am responsible for opening & closing the store safely and securely which includes cashing up, setting alarms and preparing the store for opening. I take pride in merchandising sections, making areas visually appealing helps to create a warm and inviting atmosphere in which customers feel comfortable and inspired to ask questions about the merchandise. As you may be aware the Wantage store risked facing closure due to high rents and low sales, this was a fantastic learning opportunity to improve and stay motivated to exceed targets in a time of almost certain closure.
As a result, the store renewed its lease & now has an unstoppable sales team. Although my job is retail based, it presents me with opportunities to use my human initiative in regards to customers who need extra help and guidance within the store.
