About

Software Engineer with hands-on experience developing C++ -based engineering software at Siemens EDA, with experience in optimisation, debugging, testing and complex codebases. Strong foundation in C++, object-oriented programming and data structures and algorithms, with practical experience developing Python and TCL scripts, using Git and GDB, and working in Agile teams.

Experience

Software Engineer Intern - Siemens EDA - Bengaluru, Karnataka

(2026-01)

  • Implemented logic depth-based bottleneck computation in C++ as an alternative to the TNS metric, achieving 90% code reusability and validating the implementation with 15 unit tests across incr, ft, and benchmark designs with 100% cost parity.
  • Designed and implemented the debug optimize command utility for targeted RTL optimisation at module, endpoint, genome, and path-group granularity, incorporating input validation, error handling, and parameter tracing.
  • Added the isTimingOptimized attribute to inferred modules to identify modules modified during timing optimisation, enabling future decision-making across WNS/TNS optimisation and area-reclaim stages; designed it analogously to the existing isTimingDriven attribute used for datapaths.
  • Extended origName tracking to all inferred module types to trace module transformations during timing optimisation, logging name changes and newly created modules; developed Python scripts for timing-path inferred-module detection, module genealogy tracking, and runtime analysis across optimisation stages.
  • Collaborated within an Agile workflow, using GitLab for version control (commits, branching, merge requests, code review) and Jira/Confluence for work tracking and documentation.
  • Used GDB to understand the code flow, and to debug and resolve issues throughout development.
  • Resolved Coverity-flagged static analysis issues in existing code and used gcov to measure and improve code coverage.
