• Collect mail for round and put it into the fitting
• Collect small parcels and scan them onto the system and put them into the fitting
• Bundle mail up for each route and put the mail and parcels into each bag

• Review stock and review two or three brands a day and place orders with suppliers where necessary, taking into account monthly usage, minimum order quantity and lead times
• Start transfers and send out products from head office to other branches and ensure everything has been transferred correctly on the system and account for any discrepancies
• Review branches stock and ensure what they have ordered for the week is correct and that stock is available to be sent
• Book in deliveries received throughout the day to ensure that stock on the system matches to what is in the warehouse

• Set up surgery and prepare the surgery for patients
• Collect patients from the waiting room
• Assist the dentist, hygienist or surgeon with treatments and ensure they have the correct instruments and anything else they may need

Worked and learnt alongside Shane part-time. This experience highlighted how teeth can have a huge impact on the horse in so many different ways, from the way they move to the way they carry their heads and how it can affect their backs and their rideability as a working horse.

• Message and ring clients to organise appointments for them and their horses
• Organise the diary to make sure appointments fit correctly into the day and to ensure punctuality for each client
• Catch horses, examine them and make sure they are safe to go onto treatment
• Put the gag onto the horse and inspect the horses teeth before treatment

Livery Business Key Member - Short Hazel Farm Livery Business

Key member in family's livery business with a yard of approximately 20 horses.

• Feed horses and prepare them for turnout in their paddocks
• Muck out the stables and bed down
• Bring horses in from the paddocks and riding and bedding down for the evenings

Stable Hand - Furlong Dressage Yard

Daily duties starting at 6:45am. Responsible for organising equine veterinarian clinics held every Tuesday and ensuring everything ran smoothly. This experience was fascinating to see into the complexity of horses and how different things can have a huge impact on them.

• Look after 24 dressage horses
• Clean out all the stables and prepare the horses to be ridden
• Deal with and support the clients that came to ride
• Clean all tack
• Wash horses after being exercised
• Prepare the horses ready for the night
• Organise equine veterinarian clinics and ensure that everything ran smoothly
