BSc Psychology and Counselling Graduate. University of Strathclyde Alumni. Working toward COSCO counselling skills accreditation. Passionate about mental health and wellbeing. Looking for roles in mental health support.
I am a full time support worker supporting those with a variety of learning difficulties, additional needs and mental health struggles.
I work in a supported living facility where I assist with tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, shopping and general household maintenance.
I provide support with everyday tasks such as personal and physical care, healthcare needs and administering medication, and managing clients needs in a fulfilling way.
I also provide emotional and mental support through emotional encouragement, helping clients to achieve personal goals, providing companionship, helping to build life skills and promoting independence through activities that foster community relationships. I help clients to develop and pursue hobbies and interests to ensure they experience valuable opportunities from day to day.
I maintain clear and open communication with clients, families and healthcare providers to ensure consistent and effective support that is tailored to each individual.
I graduated in July 2025 with a Bachelor of Science (with Honours) in Psychology and Counselling, from the University of Strathclyde.
Over this four year course, I gained valuable theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the study of Psychology. I studied person-centred counselling through which I learned how to actively listen to clients while providing empathy, understanding, unconditional positive regard, consistent support and open communication in a comfortable and judgement free setting.
I completed an educational workplace placement as a Peer Mentor within the disability and wellbeing service in the University, where I fostered strong therapeutic relationships and connections with students struggling with university and daily life. I worked with a variety of clients with different mental and emotional needs, providing consistent support and understanding throughout their journey in student life.
