In July 2021, I completed 27 years as a North Wales Police officer. I consider myself to be a highly motivated, conscientious, resourceful and enthusiastic individual, dedicated to every role I undertake. I have served as an operational officer engaged in general police duties but more commonly in specialist roles.

During my career I built a considerable skill platform that predominantly incorporates specialist interpersonal communications, problem solving, evidence gathering, project management and a keen aptitude for learning. A repeated feature of that career has been my involvement with media, both television and radio broadcasting, representing the Police Service and associated departmental roles. Since leaving policing, I have continued to apply my investigative and communication skills in roles including Fly-Tipping Action Wales Officer with Natural Resources Wales.

• Investigating fly tipping in and around the North Wales area
• Completion of Prosecution files for the purpose of court requirements
• Assist all North Wales Local Authorities with investigations relating to fly tipping

Contact Centre Officer (Housing Dept) - Flintshire County Council - Flintshire and Denbighshire

Police Officer - North Wales Police - Llandudno, Wrexham, Rhyl

• General Police duties in Llandudno, Wrexham and Rhyl. General Policing duties including Traffic enforcement, Criminal and presentation of evidence for Courts.
• Community Beat Manager. Policing responsibility for fifteen village communities.
• Divisional Crime Team officer. Engaged in the investigation of series crime and drug possession and supply criminality.
• Dog Handler. Following twelve weeks intensive training in dog handing skills operated expertise in public order enforcement, supporting colleagues in the investigation of crimes through scent tracking. Attending emergency incidents where the use of a dog was an option to avoid potential danger and injury to police officers and the public.
• Control Room Operative. Assessing emergency calls to the Police Operations room and assisting and supporting operational officers. Liaising with all emergency services.
• Operational Planning. Engaged in the project planning, logistical preparation, health and safety issues of large-scale gatherings and events.
• Firearms Registry. Assessing shotgun and firearms applications and ensuring compliance with such legislation to ensure public safety. Enforcing and utilising punitive measures to ensure that such legislation was complied with. Made recommendations for the suspension and or removal of authorisation to possess shotguns and firearms.
• School Liaison. Engaging with children attending thirty-six schools in Denbighshire/Conwy. Achieving a degree in teaching methods presenting educational methods within schools preventing and detecting criminality within schools.
• Rural Crime Officer. Operating as part of a small force department to prevent and detect any criminality that affected the rural communities of North Wales. Included instigating new methods to reduce the incidents of crime through attendance at livestock markets and the farming community. Representing North Wales Police in media publicity through radio and television.
