Police Officer (Inspector)

I am retiring from West Midlands Police in August 2026, after 30 years service. Most of my service has been front line public service, including Response Teams, CID and Public Protection Unit. I have been promoted to the rank of Inspector and in addition to this, over the last 8 years I have also been trained and deployed regularly as a Force Hostage and Crisis Negotiator.
This is a unique skill set, that only 0.2% of the Force achieves. I'm retiring at a young age, and would like to continue working with the public following my retirement, as this is what I enjoy and where my heart is. I previously worked in retail, dealing with customers and now after a career in Policing I feel my skills and abilities are transferrable into this role.
