I have been in my present employment for almost 4 years and enjoy the fast passed environment it brings.I am professional in my employment and enjoy achieving goals set. Am a team worker but also confident in lone working. I have a Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language and enjoy communicating with both deaf and hearing people.
I am currently Assistant Manager. I have created our Values and Mission statement, all risk assessments and ensure policies and procedures are up to date, read, and understood and signed by staff. I liaise with both internal and external people, create invoices and chase none payments.
I liaise with our external agency for HR and health and safety documentation in order to be fully compliant with government guidelines. I have dealt with complaints accordingly when needed with positive outcomes for all concerned. I work with hearing and deaf people both internally and externally and communicate accordingly and am passionate about knowing how to communicate with everyone.
My skills are understanding people's needs and ensuring goals are achieved. I like to make sure guidelines are followed and met.
Recent experience was in care services as a manager for 14 years providing care and support to deaf people for 12 years and almost 2 years in a hearing care home. My passion was to ensure support provision matched peoples needs.
Skills obtained in that area were transferred to my current position where I started as a Bookings Co-ordinator, booking interpreters, communication support workers and note takers for our deaf clients in there employment. These bookings were for meetings and training sessions as needed. I created our Value and Mission statement.
Ensured risk assessments, policies and procedures were in place to ensure staff understan our expectations in the workplace. I am passionate about guidelines and making sure documentation is in place and most importantly that staff ate aware of what we have, how to obtain information and their understanding. I have created power point presentations in past and present employment.
My current role is Assistant Manager and Communication Support Worker for BSL Assist where I have worked for almost 4 years.
