I am a motivated 20 year old, currently living in Hull and looking for full time work.
After passing my A levels in English Literature, History and Applied Law, I continued working in a customer based environment whilst searching for new work. This equipped me with the confidence to deal with customers, regardless of the difficulty of the situation which gave me a strong desire to use these skills in a more challenging job role. I applied this experience and knowledge to acquire a position working for a sales targeted company.
Earlier this year, I pursued this interest and began working in sales, feeding my naturally competitive mindset. Whilst working here, I furthered my knowledge, confidence, communication abilities as well as gaining a general understanding of what is necessary to successfully fulfil a sales driven role. I specialised in listening to customer queries and finding appropriate resolutions that both benefit the customer and my employer.
In addition to this, I was able to complete several individual sales daily, which benefited the company; this success often lead to monthly commission.
Now, I am hoping to take my experience to begin another role, something which incorporates all of the transferrable skills I have amassed, these being: communication abilities, a friendly demeanour, ability to work under pressure, successfully meet targets, punctuality, organisation and I am able to perform these individually and as part of a team.
I began working at Napoleons Casino, in a hospitality role, working there for a year. Here, I developed skills regarding how to communicate with customers, work as a team, confidently take payments, problem solve under pressure and gather a strong foundation to take my experience into a more challenging role.
Whilst figuring out which career path I wished to fulfil, I temporarily worked part time at Lotus Gym, in which I continued assisting customers with their queries, carried out general maintenance as well as being a key holder to the facilities.
From here, I acquired a job at Clearanswer Call Centre, where I spent six months utilising these skills. I successfully carried out sales, achieved commission, confidently dealt with customers, provided knowledge and assistance as well as developed my personal understanding of a professional environment. I exited this role, searching for something more challenging which will further prepare me for a career in business.
I achieved 8 GCSEs at Hymer College in 2020, achieving a grade 7 (A) in English and 4 (C) in Maths. I then attended Wyke Sixth Form College, where I achieved 3 Cs in A Level/equivalent in English Literature, History and Applied Law.
