Early Years Practitioner / Third-in-Charge (2021-10 – Present)

• Support the learning and development of children aged 0–5 years in line with the EYFS framework.
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote child's cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development.
• Observe, assess, and monitor child's progress, maintaining accurate records and learning journals.
• Provide tailored support for children with SEND, including children with communication difficulties, non-verbal children, and those displaying challenging behaviour.
• Use Makaton and other communication strategies to support child's communication and language development.
• Build and maintain outstanding parent partnerships through regular communication, meetings, and collaborative support.
• Work closely with families to support child's learning, wellbeing, and development both at home and within the setting.
• Carry out Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) responsibilities, ensuring safeguarding concerns are identified, recorded, and acted upon appropriately.
• Support nursery leadership as Third-in-Charge, assisting with the day-to-day running of the setting and supporting colleagues.
• Deliver outdoor learning experiences through Forest School approaches, encouraging confidence, independence, and exploration.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and child welfare.
• Support daily routines including meal times, personal care, hygiene practices, and educational play opportunities.
