I volunteered at the Citizens Advice Bureau, where I was the first point of contact for clients both on the phone and in person, gathering their initial information and confidential documents. This role was crucial as it required me to master data protection procedures and GDPR, ensuring every client's information was handled with the utmost care and confidentiality. I gained valuable experience in a professional office setting while directly engaging with the public and managing sensitive data.
From August 2019 to May 2022, I served as the Treasurer for the Kersiebank Community Pantry, a key role in the organization's financial operations. My responsibilities included preparing and maintaining all financial records, meticulously reviewing budgets, and monitoring our spending and cash flow to ensure financial stability. I also managed the allocation of funds to various projects and departments, and created detailed presentations to inform the Centre Committee on our financial status and strategic decisions.
I recently wrapped up a 4-week training course in business admin and basic IT skills, a partnership between GP Strategies and Falkirk Council. The program was great for boosting my job prospects, covering a lot of useful stuff like team building, interview skills, and confidence building. My goal is to land a full-time role and hopefully continue my learning with some accredited training.
