Iain Goodyear

I believe I have skills valuable to teaching that I can best summarize in the areas of communication & interpersonal skills, theoretical & practical knowledge of media, games design, photography and graphic design. In addition to my main role as a teacher, I also produce and maintain my own design portfolios in photography and motion graphic design. I have very good communication skills.

I am proficient in the use of Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Lightroom and Blender. I can verbally communicate clearly with other teachers and students and adapt my teaching style if necessary to suit the needs of the groups and individuals that I teach. I have a pleasant demeanor and I always treat others with courtesy and respect.

I have extensive theoretical and practical expertise gained through my post 16 education in media and my experience as a media tutor. I have a clear and well-developed understanding of key media concepts such as media language, media representation & media values & ideologies. I feel my enthusiasm for digital media is reflected positively by my continued practice as a video editor, motion graphics designer and photographer.

Twenty years teaching experience a range of subjects including media studies, media production, photography, graphic design and games development. Currently teaching photography, graphic design and digital art at Priestley College in Warrington in the UK.
