Manager - Acorn childcare Nursery Ltd

I decided to return to Acorn last year due to extensive amount of travel I was committing in my assessing role which was down to unforeseen circumstances.
- As manager of the setting, it is my role to complete the day to day running of the setting, staffing, rotas, ratios, transitions, teaching and learning, and improving staff CPD.
- I plan and prepare monthly staffing meets for all staff members to attend to highlight issues or concerns in regards to safeguarding, health and safety, areas of improvement and any updates. I also plan and prepare individual room meetings for each age to go over specific areas of improvements.
- It is my role to ensure the parents are happy with the standard of care their children are receiving as well as learning and development. I do this by ensuring I am organized and allow myself time to speak to parents every morning and nighttime.
- As the manager I am the mentor for 4 apprentices within the setting who are currently undergoing their own qualifications with my support along the way.
Learner Coach - Independent Apprenticeship Company
(2022-06)
- I was a Learner Coach at an Independent Training Provider for a caseload of 45 learners. I provide high standard of teaching and delivering of Level 2, 3, and 5 childcare and also the TA standards.
- I implemented observations on the learners completing activities in their settings, progress reviews every 8 weeks and coaching every 4 weeks.
- I completed learner welfare checks during every call, and ensure this is reported on CPoms.
- I assessed work to a high standard and provide feedback which also provides the feed forward approach.
Nursery Staff / Manager - Acorn Childcare Nursery
(2014 - 2022-06)
- My responsibilities here was to maintain children's safety throughout their time at nursery by competing a daily risk assessment and to continue their learning through play.
- I contributed to the children's daily routines and tasks such as, helping with toilets, self-serving meal times, getting dressed and undressed for PE.
- I was responsible for making sure that the room operational plan is always up to date for any relevant staff to refer to at any time.
- I was responsible for making sure that I and the staff in the room implement the activities arranged for key children to develop learning.
- I also had high end responsibilities of day to day running of the setting, including staff rotas and child ratios, staff holidays, staff pay, invoicing parents, liaising with outside professionals including SEND and SALT, training to a high standard of staff members to develop the children's learning and development.
- Finally, I was responsible for having a good relationship with parents and to maintain that all parents are happy and content with their child's development within the setting.
Bank Staff - Chrysalis Nursery
(2013-09)
- My responsibilities there were to help with the children's daily routines, when the children arrive, when the children go home, lunch and snack times, and helping to put the children to sleep.
- Also, responsible for preparing certain play areas for the children to explore toys and new objects in the treasure baskets.
- Also, I had the roles of supporting the children in the correct way with activities when needed.
- Prepared and implemented several activities for the children, Group, treasure baskets to explore and mathematical activities. I was also able to link in my activities with the EYFS, and to see if the children are at the correct development stage.
