• Segmenting: breaking a word down into individual sounds to help children blend and read the word.
• Phoneme: the sound that a letter or group of letters makes.
• Grapheme: a letter or group of letters that represents a single sound (phoneme) in written language.
• During guided reading, children were assigned reading books according to their abilities and reading levels.
• The children followed the words and used their knowledge of phonemes, graphemes and blending to support the development of their early literacy skills.

Young Leader (Volunteering) - Girlguiding

• Developed leadership and communication skills through this experience.
• Mentored younger girls aged 7-10 years as a positive role model.

Childcare Placements

• Worked directly with children and supported them throughout the day.
