Trainee Dental Nurse - Bupa Dental Care

Employed as a Trainee Dental Nurse, I am responsible for preparing materials to support the dentist with their patient list, as well as carrying out decontamination and sterilisation of equipment to prevent cross-infection. I also develop X-rays manage patient records. I mix all materials used in surgery.
I have also taken part in training new trainees. On occasion, I assist on reception, booking in patients and handling their queries. I maintain a friendly and professional manner, monitor the patient's wellbeing before and after treatment.
During my time at Bupa, I initially struggled with my coursework until I was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia. Since receiving the appropriate support following my diagnosis, I am now on track to qualify. I am now a compassionate and dedicated GDC-Registered Qualified Dental Nurse with excellent clinical knowledge and a strong commitment to providing outstanding patient care.

Employed as a Care Assistant, providing all aspects of care to residents, including washing and dressing, changing soiled adult pads when necessary. I also change and dress wounds. We deal with dementia patient's so this can be quite challenging.
I always deal with all patients with the dignity and respect they deserve. Whilst caring for the residents, I always talk to them, explaining what I am doing, which must even the most difficult residents at ease. I am fully trained in manual handling and hold a basic first aid certificate

Employed as a Care Assistant, providing all aspects of care to service users in their own homes. This included, washing, and dressing them to preparing and cooking meals, to doing their shopping. My more responsible duties included administering medication, changing soiled pads, and changing and dressing of wounds.
I was also responsible for getting them up in the morning and putting them to bed at night, using hoists where applicable. We were provided with a mobile phone installed with a system called Accessing Care Planning, whereby all information regarding a visit was recorded. The key safe information for accessing homes was also provided using this system.
Often, we were called upon to shop for our service users, in which, we needed to log if we were given cash or a bank card, how much money we spent and provide receipts, which were all recorded on the Accessing Care Planning system.
Waitress - The Rimswell Public House - Stockton on Tees

Responsible for the taking and delivering of food orders, ensuring that food was delivered promptly. The clearing and cleaning down of tables, ensuring impeccable hygiene standards were met. I was also responsible for the taking and delivering of the alcoholic beverages, as this is now table service only.
This role also included the taking of payment by payment card or cash. All my duties were carried out whilst meeting the strict Covid-19 safety regulations. This role was entirely customer service based, which I thoroughly enjoy and always approached any task asked of me in an efficient and professional manner.
Unfortunately, due the pandemic my role has now ceased, although, they have indicated that they will contact me again as soon as they are in a position to offer me further employment.
Waitress - Funky Monkeys - Stockton on Tees

Responsible for the taking and delivering of food orders, also the clearing of tables. I approached all my duties in a friendly and pleasant manner. Unfortunately, I was only there a few weeks when the premises were closed due the pandemic. It was indicated at the time that I would be kept on and that my position would be resumed once they were able to reopen. I have since been informed that they will not be reopening.
Pot Washer / Waitress - Shorthorn Inn - Appleton Wiske

Originally I was employed as a pot washer, responsible for clearing all waste products from plates, cutlery, cooking utensils etc, then making sure they were all spotlessly cleaned and put away in a timely manner. I made sure that the other pot washers and myself were organised and that everything was put away in its rightful place, ensuring a more efficient working environment for the Head Chef. Within a few weeks I was promoted to waitress, where I was responsible for the taking and delivering of food orders, the clearing tables etc.
I also dispensed and served soft drinks, all with a pleasant and friendly manner. I took cash payments for the cashier to process and returned any change required. I have a positive approach to customer care, always dealing with customers in a confident and professional manner.
In early 2019 the owners sold the business, so unfortunately that is when my role ended.
