Jack Barnett

Graduated from the University of Liverpool in July of 2025 with a Bachelors degree in chemistry with honours (2:1) looking to start a career in analytical chemistry.

Keen eye for detail and fascination of chemical analysis. Throughout my degree, opted into any analytical modules I could and developed a great understanding of complex analytical techniques while improving my knowledge of the wider field of chemistry.

Since leaving university, I have found myself wanting to stay connected to the world of chemistry and more specifically analytical chemistry as it is the area i am most intrigued by and have a need to begin a career within this field.

My final year project was the synthesis of morpholine based thiophenes and research into their use within non-steroidal anti-inflammatories. Through using techniques such as NMR, Infrared Spectroscopy and many more I managed to synthesise a chemically pure product.
