I am 24 year old Spanish/Portuguese MA (Hons) graduate from the University of Glasgow (2.1). Tgrough both my educational and working history I have developed a number of skills which I believe would make me an asset to any potential employer. I am multilingual and can translate from Spanish and Portuguese into English and vice versa. I am meticulous, detail orientated and we’ll able to work in a team environment thanks to my previous administrative roles. Furthermore, I am a very open minded individual having spent a year of my life abroad in Portugal where I was a translation intern with the Porto City Council. Naturally as a languages graduate I am passionate about modern languages and the practice of translation.
I have worked in a wide range of jobs over the past few years as a student. During term breaks from the University of Glasgow (September 2016 to June 2021), I was an administrative assistant with a veterinary surgery in Armagh (Orchard Veterinary Centre). From this role I gained valuable skills such as organisation, punctuality, customer service as well as a rounded knowledge and mastery of different Microsoft programmes.
From September 2018 until June 2019 I was a translation intern in Porto, Portugal. I was working with the department of tourism and commerce where I was responsible for the translation of numerous documents pertaining to tourism from Portuguese into English under time restrictions. From this position I honed my translation skills, further developed proficiency in the Portuguese language as well as my ability to manage time.
From October 2019 until March 2020 I was hospitality staff with Selective Personnel, Glasgow. I worked as bar staff in a number of venues in the Glasgow area ranging from concert halls to hospitality suites at football grounds. My customer service experience was strengthened in this role.
