I am a year 3 Adult Nurse student who will complete the course in August 2026 and due to qualify in September. I am a compassionate, dedicated and professional individual with a strong commitment to being able to deliver safe, high quality person centred care. I understand that treating every patient with dignity, respect and empathy.
I am committed to maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control by following hygiene protocols, using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly, practising effective hand hygiene, and adhering to health and safety policies to protect both patients and colleagues. I have learnt that having a strong understanding of the importance of effective communication, teamwork, and confidentiality within a healthcare setting and recognise the value of working collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide the best possible outcomes for patients. I am reliable and able to remain calm under pressure whilst prioritising patient safety.
I have gained experience in assessing patients physical and psychological needs, completing and documenting observations, recognising and escalating signs of deterioration using the appropriate escalation processes, and contributing to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Supporting patients with their daily care needs, promoting comfort and independence and wellbeing, whilst being able to maintain accurate documentation. I am committed with continuous learning and professional development as this will help towards me being able to enhance my clinical knowledge, strength and skills.
I feel this is essential to developing my clinical competence and the best nurse I can be. These experiences have reinforced the importance of delivering compassionate, high-quality care while adhering to the NMC Code, maintaining patient safety, and promoting continuous improvement in clinical practice.
