A company that produces functional and aesthetic coatings on components using high vacuum equipment. Initial role of maintenance apprentice included:

• Maintaining all equipment i.e. different types of pumps, vacuum chambers, cleaning lines
• Maintaining a stock system
• Carrying out calibrations of gauges and sensors, and storing results in a graphical and text format to be used to generate certificates of calibration
• Communicating with production shift team leaders
• Completed a BTEC level 3 engineering course at Newcastle College during apprenticeship
• Carrying out audits on the quality system and create risk assessments for multiple sites
• Assist in creating safe systems of work
• Assist in managing, creating, editing the business management system
• Assist in third party audits of the business
• Inspected products, visually and using various test methods in line with customer requirements

Worked as a volunteer in the IT suite at Glenroyd House which gives members of the community free access to computers.

• Developed a custom user interface independently
• Part of a team of volunteers working to aid community members in whatever way we could while they were using the computers
