Graphic Design graduate looking for a job in the design industry
I am a graduate from Birmingham City University who is looking for a job in the design industry. I enjoy working within multiple disciplines of graphic design, such as typography, illustration and branding, but I am also keen to learn new techniques and methods in design. I took part in several competitions and live briefs during my course and I enjoyed this experience.
As a result of this, I have commercial-standard work that I am proud of. I am a trustworthy and hardworking individual who always takes pride in their work and would love to join a creative team.
Work Placement - Wearebeard - Worcester

An agency based in Worcester, Wearebeard state that they are fuelled by creativity. Whether that's with new ways of thinking, collaborating with others or experimenting with new ideas and concepts. The work experience spanned across 5 weeks where I would join and meet the team once a week to get an idea of what it is like to work in the design industry.
The team were very friendly and helpful during my time there, and it was insightful to see how each team member would approach a project in their own way. I was involved at various points during my work experience to help with ideation for certain projects too and came away confident that l could work successfully in an agency.
Skilled Barista - Costa Coffee

Whilst studying I secured a part-time position with national cafe chain Costa. My role consisted of preparing food and drinks for customers, providing a high level of face to face customer service. I also operated machinery and dealt with transactions, as well as general cleaning of the store.
During my time with Costa, I was awarded Employee of the Month on several occasions and I am very proud of this achievement. This part-time job enabled me to understand what it is like to be in a pressured working environment, whilst also providing me with some financial independence and helping me improve on my social skills and confidence.

Another way I like to spend my free time is by helping out at my local charity shop. I have done some little tasks such as tagging and pricing items, rearranging the shop to appeal to certain demographics of customers, and decorating signs outside of the shop to attract customers. The shop is very welcoming and friendly whilst also giving me some good opportunities to use my creativity when it is needed.
