Bloktopia, Manchester — Unity Game Developer (Contractor)
January 2021 - Current
I was invited to join the Bloktopia team as a Technical Project Manager by the CTO Simon Benson following a Unity Development course at Skills City Manchester, where I showed adept knowledge of Project Management, Development Skills, Architectural knowledge, and various other management skills. Upon passing the Professional Certified Unity Exam with no commercial experience prior, I proved that over a decade of self study in the field is sufficient to work at a high level in the Industry. While working here I moved roles into Unity Game Development due to the high pressure environment requiring results. I created our XR solution, programmed our networking solution using photon fusion, and directed the team towards the product's needs; including managing the backlog and assigning tasks to other team members.

EKM Systems, Preston— Ecommerce Advisor/Junior Systems Administrator
May 2019 - September 2020
In May 2019 I joined EKM systems as an Ecommerce Advisor and hit the ground running. Already having an in-depth understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and JQuery above and beyond my role, I regularly had experienced members of staff approach me for advice in regards to programming issues. Whilst seeking a new project for my own progression, I noticed an efficiency issue within the company that I could resolve. I immediately began working on a solution using python, and created a program that could rearrange files into a format recognised by the EKM platform. This increased the speed of migrations by around 82%, massively reducing time spent by the sales department on the task, freeing up their time to focus on increasing sales. After this I was promoted within 4 months to Junior Systems Administrator.
My main duties were
- Assisting customers in resolving technical queries
- Maintaining virtualized server uptime
- Deploying powershell scripts across pulseway
- Using IIS and vSphere to monitor server health
- Resolving Windows desktop queries
Kuckoo, Preston —Kuckoo Bartender/ Bar Manager
November 2018 - May 2019
The standards of being a Kuckoo bartender are high. It requires an in-depth understanding of the industry, team-communication, and speed - constant research into the industry was imperative to success. Here I was trained to manage high-pressure environments controlling both customer experience and quality of cocktails, I managed to consistently pull in high figures for Kuckoo, regularly pulling in around £2,000 a night. This was also due to my in-depth understanding of directing customers to drinks based on limited information from a few core questions.
My main duties were
- Managing branch Cash
- Managing branch Stock
- Customer Experience
- Staying up to date with industry developments.
