I have 25 years experience in the role of Senior Credit Controller, managing multiple ledgers to improve DSOs through strategic customer relationship building. In addition, I have experience in the use of Sage, Microsoft Dynamics Navision and SAP systems.

Senior Credit Controller at Williams Medical Supplies Ltd (2000-05 – 2025-06)

As a senior member of the team, I had the responsibility of accessing bank accounts, viewing incoming daily payments, identifying and confirming customers payments before authorising release of pending orders. In addition, I uploaded the Direct Debit file via the banks Autopay Online software.

• Debt collection: Proactively chase outstanding payments from customers, managing ledgers of accounts, and ensuring collections are made in line with credit terms, thereby minimising the risk of bad debt to the company.
• Administered the monthly direct debit collection for a number of years whilst we were using Microsoft Navision.
• Credit risk and limit management: Review and set credit limits for new and existing customers using Creditsafe to assess creditworthiness.
• Order fulfilment: Monitor the credit held list of sales orders on a continuous basis to ensure we hit KPI targets. This included credit account orders and also orders paid by credit card (following a check to ensure payment was in for the correct value)
• Customer liaison: Act as a point of contact for customer payment queries and disputes, providing excellent customer service. Actioning customer refunds via BACS and Credit Cards.
• Reporting: Prepare aged debt reports and other financial reports for management, supporting the Finance Director and Credit Control Manager.
• Team support: Provide support to the Credit Control Manager and all team colleagues. Assist with training and participate in team meetings.
• Process improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement of credit control processes and policies.
• Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with other departments, namely Sales and Customer service, to resolve issues and make informed credit decisions.
