I have spent most of my career in IT Computer Operations where I have controlled global financial systems and handled critical data for companies such as IBM, HSBC, Barclaycard and Visa. I earned a reputation amongst fellow workers and managers for producing high quality work in a risk-averse environment, where a small mistake could have large repercussions for the company. I am hard working and have a very keen eye for detail, attributes which have often led to me being chosen to carry out specific tasks ahead of more experienced colleagues.
I can maintain a high level of concentration over a long period of time allowing me to complete monotonous tasks successfully. I have gained customer service experience in the Helpdesk, Retail and Public Transport sectors and I am accustomed to working shifts including weekends, nights and Bank Holidays. I enjoy contributing to a team and regularly respond to text messages requesting overtime cover at short notice.
I am seeking a new role due to redundancy where I hope to leverage my extensive skills and experience.
I have previously set up my own limited company to work as an IT contractor.
In 2014 I left HSBC, sold my house and moved to the South East to pursue a career as a Train Driver. I passed a series of psychometric tests which focus on observation, concentration and trainability for rules and procedures. I was delighted with this achievement as only 1 in 400 applicants are successful. I spent an extended period waiting in a talent pool but unfortunately this opportunity never came to fruition and I returned to IT in 2018.
I recently spent 6 years refurbishing a Grade II listed thatched house where I overcame many challenges. I had to research the correct traditional renovation methods and navigate the complicated Listed Building Consent process.
