Patient Transport Services at Medi Wav LTD (Present)
My duties in Patient Transport Services has given me a vast knowledge of working with mobile PDA's and various satellite navigation systems, that allows me to coordinate the safe transportation of patients to and from hospital appointments, whilst adhering to the most up to date traffic guidance and weather permitting conditions, in a safe, punctual and courteous manner. Other duties require myself to plan routes within a large designated area, I have an outstanding knowledge of London and the surrounding counties. To ensure ambulance safety checks, I regularly undertake vehicle inspections, keeping logs and documenting any faults both inside or outside the vehicle and report any findings to management.
I ensure an impeccable level of cleanliness maintained inside the vehicle and check all onboard equipment and stocks in working order and re-filled. I have a good knowledge of first aid and I adhere to Health and Safety procedures set down by the company to maintain and comply with Patient Safety. I am able to work effectively within a team, receiving appropriate training demonstrating a high level of competence whilst performing routine tasks both individually or under supervision.
I understand that routines and procedures are constantly changing and evolving where new inventive ideas and processes are to be learnt in order to keep striving for the best patient care. Working within the PTS sector has enabled myself to utilise and extend an effective use of communication skills, which is a key aspect of my employment. It is a vital skill in building a rapport with patients, carers and medical staff.
I display through my attitude at work excellent punctuality and a high level of professionalism, I consider myself to be hard working, well mannered and disciplined at all times. I will always seize the opportunity to learn and utilise new skills as an enthusiastic, highly organised individual, who takes pride in working with the general public as a member of a team.
