Jenna Merchant

I am a Year 11 student currently preparing for my GCSEs and looking to gain valuable workplace experience. I am reliable, motivated, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. My initiative allows me to complete tasks efficiently, take responsibility, and support others when needed.

My biggest strength is creativity, and this allows me to approach tasks with fresh ideas, solve problems and may support me in creating attractive displays and appealing presentation of products. I am eager to learn new skills, take on challenges, and gain valuable experiences to support my personal and professional development.

Teaching Assistant – Work Experience at Linden Primary School (2025-06 – 2025-06)

I worked in a Year 5 classroom over the course of a week. I assisted the class teacher through small intervention groups, 1:1 support and preparing resources for the children. I used the school's assessment policy to listen to and support children with their reading and pick out a new book which would not only promote reading skills but also enjoyment.

English language support assistant – Casual Job at Cotswolds Wind Academy (2026-04 – 2026-04)

I worked with Japanese secondary school exchange students, supporting the development of their English language skills. I facilitated a variety of planned activities, working both individually and in groups to encourage communication and build confidence in using English. These activities included board games, tug of war and other interactive, communication-based tasks.

As part of my role, I was responsible for providing constructive feedback, correcting language errors, and helping students improve their spoken English in a supportive, creative, and engaging environment.
