I completed a student teacher placement at a primary school in County Durham as part of my primary education course at Durham University. My responsibilities included planning and delivering high quality lessons daily, as well as carrying out assessments of learning and creating follow-up/intervention activities, while also ensuring all children are being safeguarded. Outside of the classroom I attended weekly staff meetings, stayed behind daily to help run afterschool clubs and plan for the rest of the week, and collaborated with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
