I am a Senior Health Care Worker. I have15 years experience working within the Health Care Sector, varying from Nursing Homes to Residential, Private Care , Mental Health Services and General Practice. I started my career looking after vulnerable clients with Dementia and Huntingdon's Disease.
I then furthered my knowledge completing an NVQ level 3. This gave me the opportunity to become a Team Leader, I covered day and night shifts, managing a team, administering medication and ensuring care plan diaries and risk assessments were up to date. Thereafter, I obtained a Higher Education Course studying English, Maths, IT, Psychology and Biology.
This led me into the very interesting role at Chadwick Lodge, observing and engaging with Mental Health clients with challenging behaviour. I then moved over to the Primary Care setting, starting as a medical receptionist in a very busy phone room, booking appointments and answering phones. I was then able to successfully complete a Phlebotomy Course and Immunisations and Injection Course whilst being trained in house.
I ran my own HCA clinics maintaining respect and dignity. My clinics involved , blood collection , performing ECGs , taking observations/SATs , long term condition reviews , diabetic reviews and liaising with the duty doctor if necessary, always ensuring my documentation is accurate and complete, following the code of conduct.
