I feel privileged to pursue a career as a person-centred counsellor after many years working in the field of mental health. I am in my third year of private practice and registered with the NCPS. I work in a trauma informed way and have other skills to draw on where appropriate for the client, such as creativity, somatic and nature-based practices.
I am a big believer in the outdoors and how it can benefit one’s well-being. This really shows in my current work as youth coordinator with Flynne’s Barn, a charity where I support young people living with and beyond cancer. I help to plan and then facilitate 2-3 nights stays for up to 10 young people, where they have the opportunity to come together with others who ‘get it’, build meaningful relationships and participate in creative, nature based and adventurous activities.
My outdoor background and love for the outdoors compliment this role.
I have a background spanning 25 years nearly in the field of mental health, working across various services in various capacities across the lifespan. I am a qualified counsellor in my third year of private practice. I also work with a charity, who support young people living with cancer.
