Jennifer Oghoghorie

I am a newly qualified social worker with a unique background in law and a strong foundation in child-focused social work, I bring a diverse skill set and a deep commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children and families. My legal qualifications, earned outside the UK, have honed my analytical, advocacy, and problem-solving skills, which I am eager to apply within the context of children and family services. During my student years, my primary focus was on working with children, allowing me to develop a keen understanding of child development, safeguarding principles, and family dynamics.

Now, I am excited to channel this expertise into my career within children and family services, where I aim to provide comprehensive support, advocate for the best interests of children, and promote family well-being. My unique blend of legal acumen, cultural competence, and social work dedication positions me to contribute positively to this critical field and work collaboratively to address the multifaceted needs of children and families.

I believe that every child has the right to grow up in a safe and nurturing environment, and it is my goal to help families achieve this. I am committed to working collaboratively with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to identify their strengths and needs, and to develop solutions that are tailored to their unique circumstances.

I strive to build trusting relationships with those I work with, and to provide them with the support and resources they need to thrive. Whether I am assisting a family through a crisis, advocating for a child’s needs, or connecting them with community resources, I am dedicated to making a positive difference in their lives.

I am a good communicator, able to listen actively and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. I am also highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
