During my ten‑week placement with Network Rail's Readiness and Resilience team, I contributed to a wide range of operational and strategic activities. I developed a presentation to support early preparation for UEFA EURO 2028, assisted in planning for several upcoming large scale events, and volunteered on event days to support on‑the‑ground delivery. I also spent a day with the signalling team in Shrewsbury and engaged with multiple departments across the organisation, broadening my understanding of rail operations, safety, and major‑event readiness.
Alongside this, I attended networking events that strengthened my industry awareness and professional connections.

Working at Tesco across self-checkouts, traditional checkouts, and the customer service desk has strengthened my ability to deliver excellent customer care in a fast-paced retail environment. I handle transactions efficiently, resolve queries and complaints with professionalism, and support customers with technical issues at self-service tills. My role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and adaptability to meet diverse customer needs while maintaining store standards.
This experience has enhanced my problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure, contributing to a positive shopping experience for all customers.
