I am a very enthusiastic, hardworking individual and always strive to put patients first in all situations. I have worked for the NHS for over 9 years, and I am now working at a private hospital company (Ramsay health). I strive to be an innovative and forward-thinking individual committed to placing the patient at the heart of everything I do and in the provision of safe, effective care.

I have held a Pharmacy degree since 2015; I also hold a clinical diploma and have completed the prescribing course. I am a member of the General pharmaceutical council and keep up to date with CPD requirements. I have worked for 6 different trusts/organisations since 2015, East Lancashire hospitals, The Clatterbridge cancer centre, Wrightington wigan and leigh NHS foundation trust, Mersey & West Lancashire teaching hospitals, Blackpool Victoria hospital and Ramsay healthcare.

Maternity leave cover – 30 hours a week – £45,000 annually – excluding on call cover. Currently working on bank 2 days a week. During this time, I have gathered a huge amount of medicines management and medicines governance experience.

I have successfully delivered medicines management training presentations for radiology, outpatient, ward and RMO staff. From the training I am also responsible for organising and signing off each staff members competencies, using knowledge questions to guide their competence. I also made/improved all the existing outdated training presentations, making them more interactive and visually engaging and ensuring the content matched the current guidelines and SOPs.

I am involved in multiple audits, from these audits I have created actions, action trackers and action plans and then implemented a lot of changes to improve our results. I have organised agendas for and delivered meetings to varied members of staff within the hospital covering medicines management, pain management and audit actions, ensuring that improvements are seen. Salary: 35Ph (umbrella). This hospital runs a variety of different specialist outpatient clinics for example dermatology and Haematology clinics. The job role was mostly dispensary based with the addition of covering a small rehab ward 3 days a week which caters for patients requiring rehabilitation after brain injuries. This role gave me valuable knowledge into the many different treatments used on and off licence in specialist conditions. The role gave me additional experience liaising with specialist consultants which has further developed my communication and problem-solving skills. During my time on the rehabilitation ward, I established strong professional relationships with members of staff and gained a huge amount of knowledge from them about the patient's journeys after brain injuries.

Period of notice: 3 months. During this time worked on a variety of different wards including admissions, cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology, frailty, ICU and orthopaedic. The longest period of time spent at the trust was spent on a covid ward, working alongside consultants, specialist nurses and doctors. During this time, I greatly improved my interpersonal and communication skills and gained professional credibility with all levels of staff. I also helped to develop guidance for the treatment of covid-19 and enthusiastically lead, engaged, motivated and inspired staff on the ward and within pharmacy. With limited information about covid around this period, I was put in many situations where I would have to assess and manipulate a broad range of information quickly and accurately and make effective judgements based on limited information. I also worked within the orthopaedics and trauma department at Wrightington hospital gathering a large variety of pharmacy skills. This experience allowed me to work alongside the pain team and orthopaedic consultants solving problems.
