Work Experience Placement - Robsack Primary School and First Steps Nursery in Hastings - Hastings

During my Childcare studies, I had work experience placements at Robsack Primary School and First Steps Nursery in Hastings where I assisted with reception children on a 1-1 and group basis helping with numeracy, literacy, setting up activities, monitoring children's behaviour in the playground and planning resources. This is where I gained awareness of cultural and religious differences. I also had work experience at a place called Calm Farm where my duties included providing support for music and sensory groups on part-time basis.

Assisting with resources and welcoming service users at the door; helping with health and safety, child protection, safeguarding vulnerable adults and risk assessments.

Volunteer Photographer - South Saxons hockey team / Hastings and Rye Observer

On Saturdays I volunteered as a photographer for the South Saxons hockey team. This meant being ready and willing to take pictures in all weathers. Some of my photos even made it into the Hastings and Rye Observer which, to me, made all the effort worthwhile.
