I am confident working alone and also enjoy working as part of a close team in the dispensary setting. I also deliver medicines administration training to healthcare assistants and nurses.

In this role I was responsible for the Medicine Dosage Systems department (MDS) of the pharmacy. I oversaw ordering, filling prescriptions, dispensing and organising delivery of medications for patients who required dosage systems. I designed and implemented a new system of organisation which the pharmacy chain now use as standard across all its stores.
I also implemented a system for patients to pre-order their own medication in advance. I worked closely with a tight knit team, and I greatly developed my customer service, and dispensing skills. Being in charge of the MDS meant that I needed to be able to work quickly, accurately and often under time pressure, concentrate through interruptions and frequently changing circumstances to patient's requirements.
I became adaptable to changes in priority and workload. I also worked well as a team member and I would often work in the main dispensary with the rest of the team and serving on the counter when needed.

It is essential to be able to think on your feet as problem solving and one off queries were a core part of my work, such as when dealing with a customer who's medication has run out but they do not have a valid prescription.

I was in a position of trust as my role included opening and locking the store, managing store cash supplies, and taking deposits to the bank. My responsibilities also included ensuring promotions were correctly and promptly advertised, and that shop layout met with company policy.
