These activities would consist of board games, painting, drawing, floor games and other activities. We would also do activities for different holidays such as making paper wreaths for Christmas and doing Halloween wordsearches for Halloween.
I would also sit and talk to different residents, allowing them to tell me about their lives and their best memories.

When I was a helper here, I would do different tasks, such as leading beginner riders on ponies, I would help the staff if they needed while mucking out in the mornings, I would also help if they needed help bedding down in the afternoon. I would also hand out hay nets for the horses in the evenings for their dinners. Also, if a horse needed cleaning, I would help other people bathe then groom the horse so that they were clean for their lessons.
Riding School Staff Member at Daisy Nook and Oak Hill Riding School (2026-01 – Present)
Depending on the shift I would do, I would do different tasks. One shift I would be handing out shaving bags on the assigned days for them to get fresh bedding in the afternoon; I would then muck out different horses and fill the nets for them. I would then also fill up their water buckets in the morning.
Also, on another shift I would tack up horses, then make sure that they are down for their lessons on time, also I would then help the customers get on the horses so that they are ready for their lessons. I also could help on the care days, this would be teaching kids how to care for a horse and learning the basics about horses, this could be mucking out a horse, filling hay nets for them, grooming horses, learning to put rugs on horses and the different parts of a horses tack, then teaching them how to then tack up a horse.
