My Master’s in Organisational Psychology at the University of Leeds provided advanced knowledge of how people behave in workplaces and how psychological principles can be applied to improve performance, wellbeing, and organisational effectiveness. The programme combined academic theory with practical, evidence-based application, developing my skills in research, analysis, and organisational development.
Key areas of study included:
Workplace behaviour & motivation: Understanding how individuals and teams function, what drives performance, and how to design roles that support engagement and productivity.
Leadership & organisational change: Exploring effective leadership styles, organisational culture, and the psychological elements that influence successful change management.
Employee wellbeing & mental health: Analysing how work environments, policies, and working conditions affect wellbeing, and how organisations can build supportive cultures.
Assessment, selection & performance: Learning how to design fair recruitment processes, competency frameworks, and evidence-based performance management systems.
Learning, development & coaching: Studying how adults learn at work, and how training, coaching, and organisational development initiatives build capability.
Advanced research methods: Conducting rigorous qualitative and quantitative research, data analysis, and evaluation—culminating in a dissertation focused on solving a real organisational issue.
Throughout the programme, I developed strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, alongside a deep understanding of human behaviour in professional settings. This background has equipped me with the ability to interpret complex data, influence stakeholders, and apply psychological principles to improve organisational performance, culture, and employee experience.
