I am an upcoming physiotherapy graduate with a genuine passion for delivering safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care. Having built a strong foundation in completing my bachelors in sports and exercise science before progressing onto pre-registration physiotherapy in Masters training, I bring hands-on clinical placement experience throughout this multifaceted career such as musculoskeletal outpatients and cardiac rehabilitation within the NHS. I am confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating sensitively with patients from diverse backgrounds, and taking the initiative to lead service-improvement work when the opportunity arises.
I am now looking to bring my clinical skills, leadership experience and enthusiasm for continued learning into a rewarding physiotherapy role.
MSK Physiotherapy Student - First Placement at Parkside Medical Centre Read House (Boston) - NHS (2025-01 – Present)
Supervised by a First Contact Practitioner and senior MSK physiotherapists, I developed my clinical reasoning across a broad caseload including femoroacetabular impingement, lumbar spinal stenosis, cervical myelopathy, De Quervain's tenosynovitis and Morton's neuroma. I applied region-specific special tests to support assessment, assisted with Maitland mobilisations and Kinesio taping under supervision, and carried out subjective and objective assessments with patient consent, building a strong foundation of hands-on MSK skills. This early exposure to a wide range of MSK presentations helped established the importance of using a practical clinical toolkit to provide holistic person-centred care towards current and future patients.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiotherapy Student - Second Placement at Countywide (Lincoln) - NHS (2025-01 – Present)
On this placement I progressed from observing to independently leading warm-ups and rehabilitation exercise sessions, monitoring patients' cardiovascular responses and adjusting exercises according to symptoms and tolerance. Weekly reflective practice helped me identify strengths and set development goals, while attending multidisciplinary team meetings gave me valuable insight into collaborative cardiac care and the importance of building patient confidence through clear explanation and reassurance. Taking responsibility for monitoring and adjusting care in a higher risk clinical area gave me the vocal judgement and composure needed to keep patients safe under pressure.
MSK Outpatients Physiotherapy Student - Hybrid Clinical and Leadership Role - Third Placement at University of Lincoln - NHS (2026-01 – Present)
This placement combined a musculoskeletal clinical caseload with a leadership project. Having already built a strong MSK foundation previously, I was able to take a more independent role in patient assessment while further developing my exercise-prescription skills using Physiotools. Alongside two peers, I also led a clinic service-improvement project — designing a patient questionnaire, identifying a way-finding issue affecting patients, and presenting a costed signage proposal that was approved and implemented within a week, an achievement recognised with a Student of the Month award.
This experience showed me that good physiotherapy extends beyond the treatment room, and it strengthened my ability to identify problems, act on evidence and lead change with confidence. Qualities that set me apart as a physiotherapist who can add value to a service, not just individual patients.
Volunteer at St Vincent Nursing Home (Pinner) (2017-01 – 2018-12)
My earliest experience of a healthcare setting came through volunteering in a residential care home, where I developed an understanding of residents' concerns around mobility and functional independence. This included learning the reasoning behind different mobility equipment such as walking frames, hoists, gutter frames and crutches, along with a range of mobility exercises, and appreciating why ongoing assessment, observation and re-assessment are so important to residents' physical and mental wellbeing. The experience helped me build effective multidisciplinary teamworking, respect and dignity in care, organisation, time management, and the value of thorough record-keeping and documentation.
These are skills I see as highly transferable across physiotherapy settings, from hospitals to community clinics and sports clubs, and ones that support me in responding appropriately, inclusively and without discrimination to the needs of different individuals and groups, in line with the standards of excellence and professionalism set out in the NHS Constitution.
