General Practice Assistant - The Swan practice Doctor's surgery - Milton Keynes

In this job role I oversee the reception team on the shift, if they need help with any task or any admin that needs done for the day. I am first contact for the Doctor's or any other staff member in the general practice and for the patients. We must be very professional and confidential for the patients and staff as we are first in line to help them with their needs no matter what they are.
I am a key holder to open the 3 sites at different time depending on which one I am working from that day and make sure the building is secure to locking up. I have a second responsibility in being in the triage room with the team to help book the appointments or direct them to the appropriate and safest help if needed. There is an early morning form 7am to 8am that I help the clinical staff with this helps patients get appointments before they start their day.
Every day we use the computer and must have some level of computer skills as we use different formats from Word to Spreadsheets to the booking systems to book patients in. In this job role you must be excellent at time keeping, if a clinical staff need something I will make sure I can be there to support them. We have different Locum staf
