I have always had a great interest in the environment, particularly trees and plant life. Having worked in administration for most of my adult life I decided that a change was needed and it was time to work towards my dream of a career I enjoy
Following a career in administration spanning over a decade, my journey led to a pivot towards environmental science. This recent academic pursuit culminated in earning my BSc from The University of Sheffield, equipping me with a robust skill set including research, laboratory work, and project management.
My previous roles have honed my ability to handle sensitive information and work under pressure, skills that are invaluable in the scientific community. Coupled with an IES accreditation, my aim is to leverage these competencies to contribute meaningfully to environmental research and sustainability efforts.
Acquiring a solid understanding of ecological principles, gaining expertise in analysing ecosystems and understanding their interdependencies within the environment. Developing proficiency in geology and earth systems, learning how geological processes influence environmental dynamics and affect ecosystems. Gaining expertise in environmental policy and regulation, understanding the legal frameworks that govern environmental protection and sustainability.
Attaining practical climate change and mitigation strategies, understanding the impact of changing climatic conditions on water quality and developing sustainable solutions for mitigating adverse effects on aquatic ecosystems.
