As a Children's Residential Support Worker, I am responsible for working in a team to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people living in the care setting. My primary role is to ensure the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the children, assisting with their daily activities and routines while offering stability and structure in their lives. Collaboration with colleagues and other professionals is essential as we work together to assess risks and contribute to the creation of individualized care plans for each child. I maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each child's well-being, progress, and any incidents that occur. Additionally, I am involved in crisis management, using calm and effective communication to handle challenging situations and ensure the safety and well-being of all the children in the home.

Work Placement / Associate Forensic Psychologist at Forensic Psychology Practice Ltd (2022-07 – 2023-04)
I have completed a 30-week full-time work placement at Forensic Psychology Practice Ltd as part of my studies for a Forensic Psychology degree at the University of Portsmouth. This entails summarising court documents, completing clinical interviews, administering and scoring psychometrics, and writing a full psychological report on each client. Once this placement ended, I was offered a job as an associate Forensic Psychologist.
Nursery Practitioner at Earlswood early years nursery (2020-07 – 2023-04)
At Earlswood nursery, I was one of the few creative and energetic Nursery Practitioners with a love for children. I ensured that all children attending the setting received high quality care, were kept safe, received rich and stimulating play experiences to meet their needs. I observed, supported, and extended children's learning through appropriate planning using Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.
I maintained accurate and effective records as well as working in partnership with parents/carers and other family members. I demonstrated good practice regarding special needs and inclusion. The job has been highly rewarding by supporting each individual child's growth, development and progress and challenging them further, facilitating the formation of relationships and bonds with other children and childcare practitioners, helping each child to channel the powers of their inquisitive minds and busy hands to unlock their own creativity, confidence, and energy.

My duties were to meet the children and settle them into their daily routine. I helped feed, clean and care for the children that were between the ages of 6 months and 5 years old adapting to each child and their individual needs. To monitor and assist them through play ensuring that they are in a safe environment.
To raise any issues identified with the manager that may be a cause for concern such as safeguarding or learning or development problems. I would speak with parents at the end of each day to inform them of how their child had behaved during the day and to report to them any minor accidents such as small cuts and bruises caused through play.

My duties included front of house meeting and greeting parents and their children, organizing the party games, menus, entertainment and making sure specific dietary requirements were obtained and followed. I also took payment for entry, food and drink and processed these efficiently. I also had to help ensure that all play equipment was deep cleaned on a regular basis and assist with the cleaning.
