About

I have been working in health and social care since I first turned 18 and was old enough to start my career in the industry, I fell in love with the job role and cannot see myself working in a different field. I have been working for SHAW healthcare at an advanced dementia care home in Evesham since September 2019 and have further expanded my skills and knowledge as a Support Worker while I have been working there. I am an outgoing person who values the needs of every resident and try to give them as much choice as possible and involve them as much as I can with their care to ensure their dignity is respected.

I have worked at The Hawthorns dementia home in Evesham since September 2019 some of my day-to-day responsibilities would include:

Supporting all residents on the unit I work on with all personal care needs, following it in relation to their personal centered care plan
Personal care and assisted living for all residents including moving and handling, I like to involve the residents as much as I can in their care to ensure their dignity is respected.
Dietary and fluid assistance for residents who have advanced needs and encouragement to enable independence for the service users with more capacity than others.
Activities engagement with different choices to accommodate all residents with documentation daily.
Reporting any new concerns or observations of the service users to nurses immediately if found to update their care plan.
Turning and repositioning to be done in accordance with their care plan
Documentation to be recorded live on KareInn, this is a new system we use to make information about the residents more easily accessible for all staff members, we record all care and new information the service users receive on here, for example, diet and fluid intake, repositioning, personal care and handovers for night/day staff.
