I am a passionate and driven individual whose key qualities lie in customer service and in team development. My ability to both listen and motivate others is often what sets me apart. I strongly believe that good leadership is demonstrated by doing, whether it be through knowledge, understanding or action, and I feel that there is never any excuse to stop learning – something that is reflected in my attention to detail and the overall quality of my work.
A hard working and proactive approach to work are fundamental to progression; while inspiring those around you is as equally as important as making informed decisions. I always put others before myself and take great pleasure in seeing those that I have helped to develop progress in their own careers. I am always seeking to better myself and improve – both inside the working environment and out.
March 2023, I have been an USDAW representative for IKEA, which has aided in my leadership and conflict management skills.
Logistics Assistant - IKEA
(2022-10)
Duties involve handling received goods and working with stock accuracy to ensure stock goes out on the shop floor, being as efficient as possibly in a short window until the store opens. I am also a FLT driver (Reach and Counterbalance) which involves working with airing stock and unloading goods from our delivery partners, and I have also had IPAF Scissor Lift Training on 3A machinery, and been trained on conducting SEMA racking inspections. Due to my past experience working within Fulfillment, I regularly support the function, from unloading deliveries, to helping with additional work during peak hours or covering staff shortages.
Goods Flow Fulfilment Co-Worker - IKEA
(2021-06 - 2022-08)
With changing times during Covid-19, as a store we decided a priority should be focused on online orders and 'click and collect.' I was one of the few chosen to launch this new UK function, which has been a great success to the company, driving profit margins month on month, and has contributed to the store exceeding targets YTD. Daily tasks included checking orders, and their respective cut off times, and prioritising workload based on this. Working in the team, I was able to effectively meet the quota for the store daily targets, work quickly and efficiently to get the job done, as shown by my picking statistics, which were consistently within the top 10% of all employees.
I also supported the main function of the store, by minimising staff shortages and down time, and organise daily stock checks on items to eliminate customer dissatisfaction. I have held a certified Bendi Forklift License since October 2021, as I have been working in the warehouse on customer orders, which requires the use of a forklift. I also work with an external delivery company for customer orders, and often drive to our distribution warehouse for stock retrieval and delivery.
During my time in this departm
Sales Co-Worker - IKEA
(2016-08 - 2021-06)
As a Sales Co-Worker, I was charged with the completion of several key objectives crucial to the company. This included, most importantly, customer interaction, the arranging and pricing of products, pick and preparation, EDS and frequent stock inventory. Regular and professional communication with both customers and management, on a daily basis, was integral to the achievement of my duties – whether it be face to face, via telephone or email.
Being customer facing is critical to the development and understanding of my knowledge, in particular, introducing me to the financial targets that form the business model – something which has since proved invaluable. I regularly handled a variety of queries and dealt with numerous types of personalities. It was my duty to approach all of my work in a fair and equal manner.
Diagnosing the root cause of a customer request, both quickly and correctly, is crucial to the success of both my role and the wider team. Likewise, pressure is a natural prerequisite of the role but I am fully capable of managing both my time and my priorities effectively without sacrificing the quality of the job at hand.
