Department of Life Sciences, Drug Delivery Program

• Gained thorough understanding of analytical methods used for pharmaceutical analysis, including interpreting spectroscopic data (NMR, IR, MS) and predicting chemical properties. 
• Undertook laboratory practical work involving wet and dry granulation, and tablet compression.
• Conducted a study on the optimisation of filament production for 3D printing of pharmaceuticals, using the API theophylline. 
• Used Quality by Design approach to develop API + excipient loaded filaments which were analysed for drug content using validated HPLC methods, UV-Vis spectroscopy, dissolution studies and microscopy, while adhering to good laboratory practices.
