For the past 4 years I have been a small business owner within the education sector; helping mature students achieve their GCSE/Functional skills qualifications to progress on to further employment or education. I have been looking to branch into the business sector with a more forward-facing and integrative role. With lots of experience working within teams, I possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating integrity when dealing with and responding to confidential information. I have also led multiple teams in a variety of arenas which has allowed me to gain skills such as event planning, time organisation, delegation, and leadership.
In my role as Director and Tutor at Joyful Tutoring, I successfully managed a team of tutors and oversaw the workload of 50 students. This involved creating lesson rotas, conducting weekly briefs, and performing regular performance reviews. My experience in handling administrative tasks, such as data entry and performance tracking, has honed my organisational and multitasking skills.
Moreover, during my internship at Avado Fast Futures, I completed intensive programs that emphasized effective self-management and organisation to meet program targets. This experience, coupled with my ability to operate within organisational policies and procedures, aligns well with the requirements of many roles within the business/commercial sector.
During my time as a Sales Advisor with the National Citizens Service, my responsibilities extended to actively selling the NCS programme to interested students and parents, showcasing my effective communication and promotional skills. Additionally, I ensured customer satisfaction by checking in on existing customers and informing them of further opportunities, underlining my commitment to customer support and engagement.
