MBA Candidate at University of York (2026-03 – Present)
After thirteen years working across institutional financial services — and following the loss of my mother to cancer in 2010 and my father to dementia in 2021 — I made a deliberate decision to deepen my expertise in healthcare management and formalise the strategic and commercial knowledge I have been applying in practice since 2009 as a founding equity partner of Mobile Health Group New Zealand. Both losses profoundly shaped my conviction that access to better-designed, better-funded and better-delivered healthcare systems saves lives. That conviction has sat alongside my financial services career for over a decade, expressed through our family's founding involvement in Mobile Health Group NZ, where we have backed and scaled a portfolio of mobile medical and surgical technology businesses across New Zealand with the explicit goal of expanding access to care in underserved communities.
Enrolling in the University of York's MBA in Healthcare Management is the natural next step — giving rigorous academic grounding to what has been a deeply personal and commercially active parallel commitment. The programme, undertaken on a part-time basis over two years, covers healthcare strategy, systems leadership, service design and policy — directly equipping me to operate at the intersection of institutional capital, technology and healthcare delivery that defines the most impactful organisations in this space today.
